Rotary International is headquartered in Evanston, Illinois, USA, but each Rotary club and others in the same geographic area are part of a district, led by a district governor. Districts help clubs connect to each other and access Rotary resources. There are around 530 districts, and these are organized into 34 zones. Each zone has about the same number of Rotarians.

The Rotary Club of Fairhope belongs to Rotary District 6880, which covers the southern half of the state of Alabama, from Montgomery to the Gulf Coast. Information about district events, copies of the district newsletter and other documents, and a wealth of other useful information is available at the district website.
